Nitrogen Removal

Removal of nitrogen is necessary for conditioning of the natural gas and leads to reduced transportation volumes and an increased heating value.

For the removal of nitrogen Linde Engineering typically uses a double column process to maximize heat integration. Depending on the nitrogen content of the feed gas an additional enrichment column may be foreseen upstream of the actual removal process.
