α-SABLIN Process
Linde Engineering together with the Saudi-Arabian SABIC developed a new process for the production of linear alpha olefins via oligomerisation of ethylene –
α-SABLIN.
In this process the linear alpha olefins are formed in a single stage, homogeneous catalytic process in a bubble phase reactor. Compared to alternative processes
α-SABLIN is characterized by a simple process design and moderate reaction conditions.
The first industrial scale plant for the production of linear alpha olefins with the
α-SABLIN process was commercialised in 2009 by our client.
